Let Me Tell You a Story...Digitally.

I will be honest. I was very intimidated of using iMovie. I have had horrible experiences using movie builders on my PC, and have watched roommates and friends struggle with iMovie and the layers and layers of effects/sounds/pictures/etc. to create a movie. After trying it out, it wasn't that bad! I was a bit irritated with the extra work of having to create a storyboard, but it ended up making the process of creating the movie so much easier. I had already decided on my topic, the picture and information each slide would hold, as well as the effects of each transition and font. Using a storyboard enabled me to keep the transitions and effects simple and cohesive throughout the video. (I am sure I would have wanted to try a new effect for each slide, or would forget which effect I had been using!) My biggest struggle was trying not to plagiarize by stealing photos off of Google Images without giving credit..but that was definitely a lesson learned! Other than the issue of being a thief, the digital storytelling processing using iMovie was actually pretty simple! I do not have a Mac sadly, but hope to have one in the future and surely will use the program in my someday-classroom!
