Google Sites and Blogging

I have heard of the idea of having a classroom website, but have never seen one used in and elementary or secondary classroom. I think it is brilliant! In other classes, we're learning about the importance of teacher/parent relationships. Having a classroom website can allow a teacher to communicate with the parents weekly, or however often they'd please. It would provide the opportunity for the teacher to post pictures or videos of the children learning, and of the children's work. Blogging also provides this opportunity for teachers to communicate with parents and students at home. The teacher can blog or post a video about what went on in the classroom that day, and a child that was absent can look and see what they missed. I also have loved finding educational blogs by other people that provide lesson ideas and advice for classroom management.
